Rough races raise funds to promote bike safety (Northbrook Star)

Wood Oaks Green Park was invaded by 274 brave bicycle riders Nov. 9, who strained their muscles and lungs for 30- to 60-minutes at a time to race up and down hills and over grass, mud, gravel and, occasionally, pavement. The cyclocross races raised about $4,000 for bike safety and education, according to Chris Henning, one of the organizers.
